Organisation Description
Aġenzija Sapport is the national agency providing a myriad of services and schemes to persons with disabilities and their family members in Malta. Services vary from social work interventions, assessments, community services, residential services, community services, sign language interpretation services, social contact, independent living assessments, and much more. These services focus on inclusion, empowerment of service users through training and active support, and accessibility of services and information. The Agency currently employs over 560 personnel and serves both children and adults with disabilities. Being the main government service provider, Aġenzija Sapport complements and forms part of a network of services provided locally also by a number of non-governmental organisations and the private sector.
Sharing Lives:
The Sharing Lives service was launched in 2017 and is led by the belief that people with disability have a right to live a full life as any other individual in society. Quality of life is also determined by the positive relationships we have in our lives that help us grow and become full persons and the possibility to access social events and experience new things where we discover our strengths and passions. With this vision, Sharing Lives works with volunteers in setting up new creative initiatives, tapping resources in the community and collaborating with other organisations to bring unique activities to the service users.
