Catalyst for Change: Arts Shaping Community

Matthew Galea

This Masterclass program is an exercise in knowledge sharing that focuses on projects and initiatives that tackle social impact, community, and youth engagement issues by using the arts as a catalyst for change. US based producer and engagement professional, Grayson Wambach will be highlighting his experiences working and collaborating with underserved and marginalized communities in Chicago, while also sharing other successful projects he has initiated around the world. By utilizing STEAM and principles within the arts and culture space, this program will address social and environmental concerns with a focus on community priorities to help shape a path forward, creating the foundation and sharing the tools to initiate positive change across diverse backgrounds. In addition, local artist and artistic producer, Angele Galea will present our current collaborative community project Vucijiet Beltin. She will provide insight into building a cultural bridge between the US and Malta, as well as the successes and challenges we’ve faced over the past four years developing relationships, support, and understanding when it comes to building a more confident and engaged community across the island country.
