Welcome one and all to the Grand Opening of Science in the City 2020, Malta’s science and arts festival. The time had come for you to join us as we launched into our jam-packed 3-day Live Virtual Festival, filled with lots of amazing and interesting content! Friday 27 November 2020 was a special day around Europe with many countries all participating in European Researchers’ Night! We aimed to make this a night to remember and here’s what to look out for on Friday night:
We had fantastic performing art pieces in Feedback Loops, looking at how wearable devices can help to monitor and track depression, and Jumping Genes, exploring the challenges faced by Women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) careers.
There was the opportunity for you to help researchers and performers work together to save the planet in Malta’s first Virtual Escape Room!
You could finish your evening off by listening to some smooth jazz with a twist in Bats do Jazz, where you could learn about the science of echolocation through the music.
